It's Life Detox Week! Day 1

Every year for the last 10 years my dad, my brother and I have gone to the Florida Keys for a week of fishing. We have had some amazing days on the water as well as some frustrating days with high winds or rough seas when we didn't have as much fun. However we always go at the end of February/early March when Illinois and New York are somewhere between 20 and -20 degrees, so every day in Florida is delightful compared to home.

No offense to the important women and children in our lives, but this is life detox for all three of us.

Today's Daily: Slept in till 11AM, had a late lunch of blackened dolphin sandwich (mahi for faint of heart) and a Key West Sunset Ale, then came back to the timeshare and watched (concurrently) the USA - Canada gold medal hockey game and "Escape from LA" - a terrible Kurt Russel movie when he was clearly desperate for money.

We had a great dinner at a local restaurant called "The Island", with She-crab soup, and excellent mahi, Key West pinks (shrimp) and scallops. The remainder of the night will likely include a cigar (don't judge me) and some excellent rum and conversation. Tomorrow we are up at 6:30AM for a day of flats fishing - perhaps shark, barracuda, cobia, bonefish, tarpon, permit, jacks and snappers. Tune in tomorrow for updates!
